59: – 59 0103 – designated RGac-59 (2003)

A Blackwood acoustic based on the Tacoma Chief, complete with “ear hole” rather than conventional sound hole. The top is also Blackwood with very light Blackwood bracing. The fret board is jarrah, with no fret board position markers. It has attracted considerable interest. It is intended as a demonstration instrument for LPO pickup systems. The top was replaced with a Cyprus top after the bridge lifted because of the “ear hole”. It is still hanging on the wall of the new workshop at Buninyong but spent two years in the Big Shed at Cherry Tree and now has loose bracing and a hole where the original LPO preamp was mounted which has long gone to replace a faulty unit.
