number46The steel body was made by Kermeens in Ballarat and the neck and assembly was done by me. The nickel plating proved to be unsatisfactory and the guitar was subsequently stripped and painted. It was fitted with a Baggs UST and later was also fitted with a lipstick pickup. Because Steve wanted his own name for what was going to be a series of instruments, he had “Plato” engraved on the pearloid-covered headstock and was designated 001 7 99.
