An F- style mandolin made for Barry McCausland, a member of the “Men O’ the Hill” to celebrate his 65th birthday. Barry requested “The Troubadour” inlaid into the headstock and a guitar, a banjo and a mandolin on the finger board. The mandolin was fitted with a Fishman bridge and supplied with a WAS 4 preamp.

Similar to #39 but without the inlays, for Ian Phillips. The mandolin was fitted with a Fishman bridge and supplied in a case. Ian subsequently moved to Tasmania and left the instrument on consignment with the Acoustic Centre in Melbourne. The mandolin was purchased by Troy Cassar-Daley and I was astonished but delighted to see him using it, in company with Jimmy Barnes, on the Golden Guitar Country Music Awards, televised nationally on Sunday, 23 January, 2005. It also made an appearance on a DVD that accompanied Troy’s CD released in 2007 and Troy was pictured playing the mandolin on Jimmy Barnes’ CD, “Double Happiness” from 2005.
